The CISA BLE eKEY will allow guests to unlock their rooms by using enabled smartphones as mobile credentials. The new technology will also allow guests to control their stay, including booking the hotel and checking in and out, with the dedicated guest app [gestgid]®. While its design adds a number of conveniences for guests, the CISA BLE eKEY also benefits hotels by encouraging direct booking, and therefore cost savings. It’s suggested to reduce the dependency and cost of online booking agents, as well as improve the probability of repeat bookings. This in turn provides higher margins for the hotelier and will increase revenue. Partnering with BHM Media Solutions GmbH, specialists for digital sales and service solutions, Allegion have designed a basic package that will allow guests to order room service, access directories and provide feedback through the [gestgid]® app. The more advanced packages will give the CISA BLE eKEY functionality, as well as opportunities for hotels to push notifications straight to the guests smartphones and alert them to special hotel offers. Trevor Ball, area sales manager for CISA Hospitality for Allegion UK, said: “More and more we are seeing hotel guests looking for convenience and personalised services. The CISA BLE eKEY is a natural extension to our CISA hospitality portfolio. Guests no longer have to queue at front desks for room keys and check in, and they can find out all they need to know about a hotel straight from their fingertips, when they want and where they want. “By providing customers with the convenience of using the CISA BLE eKEY and gestgid app, the hotelier can start to find even more data about their guests, engage before and after the stay and then offer personalised services through the technology.” In addition to the CISA BLE eKEY, Allegion exhibited a full suite of door hardware and showcased other brands from its portfolio at the show. Additional hotel solutions from the CISA family that were displayed included CISA eGO, eSIGNO and eFLEXO contactless locks and credentials. Allegion’s specialist brand in sliding door solutions, Brio, was also on display, as well as the UK’s leading brand for door closer and door furniture, Briton. www.allegion.com/uk
