Also online at: www.dijonline.co.uk 14 THE door industry journal spring 2013 industry news GARADOR APPOINTS NATIONAL SALES MANAGER Leading garage door manufacturer Garador has appointed Roy Sargant as the new national sales manager. Roy joined the Yeovil company as a group merchant manager over two and a half years ago. Since then Roy has worked hard to establish a structured and coordinated approach to Garador’s merchant relationships and is looking forward to taking this next step. Roy comments: “I’m thrilled to accept the role of national sales manager at Garador, and am committed to investing in the growth of the business.” Simon Hipgrave, managing director of Garador comments: “Roy’s new position will allow for a fully integrated sales approach as he will provide a central point of contact for all of our account managers. “We work hard to support our team in their career progression and therefore it is to have been able to fill this position internally. I am looking forward to working with Roy more closely as he takes this next step in his career.” The news of Roy’s appointment follows the recent announcement that Garador has extended its factory in Yeovil, making it the most modern of its kind in Europe. Manufacturing to the highest level of quality, Garador offers a complete garage door range along with operators and spares. Well whilst MLA Expo 11 only seems like yesterday, we’re onto the next one; bigger and better, MLA Expo 2013, the 16th edition of the biggest Locksmith and Physical Security exhibition in the UK. Being held once again at the Telford International Centre (we looked elsewhere but to be honest due to the size of the event we couldn’t find anything that had the size exhibition hall, the easy access, the onsite hotels, plenty of free parking etc. to match) from the 13th to the 15th of September. Based on the fact that within 12 hours of launch over 250 square metres of exhibition space had been snapped up, we’re confident that it’s going to be yet another great event, and so it is proving with well over 45 companies and more than 600sqm of stand space already secured with 7 months to go! This year will see the usual mixture of great stands, excellent show deals, latest products and top rate training. But added to this there’ll be a “bring & buy sale” that’ll see the opportunity for locksmiths to sell any items as well as pick up a bargain or two. There’ll also be a couple of social events in the evenings, with a President’s reception planned for the Friday night and a general social gathering on the Saturday night with some food, music and plenty of networking! Another difference this year is the fact that visitors could win some fantastic prizes, simply for turning up! Top prize is a trip to Las Vegas for 2 which is open to all visitors, whilst MLA members (or those who sign up to join at the show) will have the added opportunity of winning a tablet PC each day the show’s open, so it’s definitely going to be worth your while attending! With more prizes planned, and work progressing on the renowned training that’s provided, we look forward to attracting another record attendance. And not only from the UK; at previous events we’ve seen a lot of locksmiths come over from Ireland for the event, and people have travelled from as far afield as the USA, China and even Australia to attend, so it’s very much an internationally attended event. For more information, to find out who’s exhibiting, or to register to visit (free of charge) then simply visit the dedicated Expo website www.locksmiths.co.uk/expo-2013 You can also download an Expo flyer here www.dijonline.co.uk/downloads/doc1025.pdf
