Professionally produced video’s showcase the features and benefits of each of the doors in the Hörmann range. With more and more sales staff using tablet computers and with many potential customers seeking information via the internet, the videos are designed to help bring the products to life. David O’Mara, Hörmann (UK) Limited’s marketing manager, was behind the project to develop this sales tool. He said, “Seeing how the doors operate and understanding the key features of our core products has proved to be a key to selling their benefits. Traditionally we have encouraged the public to visit their nearest showroom, and will continue to do so. However, the idea of the virtual showroom is effectively to take the doors to the consumer. “Today people expect to find information online so these video’s can be accessed via our YouTube channel. However, we would encourage our distributors to embed links to these video’s into their own websites.” The video’s can be viewed by searching for the Hörmann UK channel on YouTube and selecting playlists. ALUTECH FAÇADE SYSTEMS SET GOLD STANDARD AT SOCHI OLYMPICS The medals of the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi 2014 brought a lot of joy to the best sportsmen and sportswomen of the world and millions of their fans who viewed this fantastic event. The ALUTECH Group of companies also contributed to the organization of the Games and participated in construction of many Olympic sites. It is highly likely that Darya Domracheva, a three gold Belarusian winner of the female biathlon at the Sochi Olympics 2014, looked up to the sky through ALUTECH windows before her overwhelming victories. The reason being is that all the windows and doors in the Olympic village of the Seaside cluster where the sportspeople were accommodated had been made of ALUTECH aluminium profiles. But, the Seaside cluster is not the only site built with Alutech’s help. The windows, doors, façades and sectional garage doors used in the construction of the residential settlement known as “Little Achun” within the Olympic park were produced by ALUTECH. Builders also used high-quality ALUTECH products while constructing the Laura electric power substation in Adler that supplies the Mountain cluster and the Olympic sites in Red meadow. Overall, ALUTECH secured about an 80% share of the aluminium façade systems, windows and doors used in Sochi and a 90% share in Adler. Besides the Olympic sites ALUTECH products were used in the construction of other infrastructure projects in Sochi. For example they were used in the reconstruction of the international airport in Adler; erecting a set of buildings in the Olympic park which will be used during a Formula 1 racing event planned for October 2014. Additionally, ALUTECH profiles were utilised in building of many other sites like shopping malls, cafes, housing estates and even a fire station. 7 THE door industry journal spring 2014 The Olympic village of the Seaside cluster Laura electric power substation in Adler
