Established in 1962, APT is one of the UK’s leading providers of vehicle access control and traffic management systems. It is a trusted and respected brand with a range of blue chip customers. Products include manual parking barriers, automatic car park barriers, automatic rising bollards, automatic terrain blockers and rising kerbs for automated security access control systems. The firm’s team of highly-skilled engineers provides full installation - including any civil engineering - and maintenance support on a nationwide level, with a full range of service contracts available. All installations can be tailored to meet client requirements and are rigorously tested for safety and reliability. “We are delighted to welcome APT Security Systems to the NVM family, as it’s a company renowned for quality products and synergises perfectly with our existing operation,” says John Seymour, Managing Director of the NVM Group. “This acquisition has a range of benefits for us - it enhances our product offering and opens up new markets for us, as well as allowing our customers to purchase more of their requirements from a single source and receive on-site support from experienced group personnel.” NVM has a history of buying and investing in well-established, market-leading firms. In 2016 the group acquired Portico Products - a company with over 70 years’ experience in supplying quality roller doors and components – and built on the firm’s solid foundations to offer an even better service to new and existing customers alike. Innovations included the relaunch of the popular Eurogard garage door range, an option that is ideal when space is at a premium and offers benefits such as a 20mm thick curtain for improved noise reduction and boosting Portico’s Transpalink range of transparent shutter systems. Other changes at Portico included opening the trade counter from 8am - enabling customers to buy parts on their way to a job – and extending the range of sectional door parts, hand tools, power tools and workwear. And in 2017, one of the country’s leading door brands – Bolton Brady – joined the NVM fold. NVM now stocks the Bolton Brady range of assemblies, which include single phase and 3 phase drives, as well as spring assisted, push-up and hand chain-operated barrels.
