Also online at: www.dijonline.co.uk 34 THE door industry journal summer 2014 garage doors feature NEW OPTIONS FOR RYTERNA SIDE HINGED GARAGE DOORS Ryterna now offers a select range of additional options for side hinged garage doors. These new options give customers even more opportunities to customize their home’s façade or to match the garage door design with Ryterna front entrance doors. Pull handles from the new range, combined with stainless steel windows and metallic paint creates a luxurious look and in the case of bespoke designs, a unique door style. Customers can choose from several pull handle options: door-knobs, angled, round and straight. Straight design handles can be from 40cm up to 1m in length. Handles can be fitted in pairs or singly for doors with an asymmetric split. Pull handles can be fitted with two types of locks: a self-locking lock or a ball-latch lock. Self-locking locks operate from outside with a key and from inside by pushing the handle or turning a thumb-turn, this is a convenient system for those of us who are always in a rush. Doors with ball-latch locks close without self-locking. The ball-latch keeps the door in closed position and you can open it by pulling or pushing it. To lock or unlock the door you have to use the key from outside or the thumb-turn from inside. The above option is ideal if the customer intends to use the garage door many times per day or they are worried about locking themselves out of the garage. Newly launched to complement the range of plastic and stainless steel windows already available, customers can now order custom designed windows. These windows are made from triple glazed scratchproof polycarbonate, framed in a stainless steel double-sided appliqué. Available in a variety of shapes and sizes, each side can vary in shape and size if required. Glazing options include obscure, opaque and tinted polycarbonate. Customers can choose from three threshold options: L-shape, Rectangular and Flat at no additional cost. • Rectangular and Flat thresholds are ‘car proof’ and should be selected if the garage is to be used for cars. • The L-shape threshold provides a closer fit to reduce ingress of water, debris etc. but it is not recommended for crossing with a car. If the garage is used for bikes, storage or hobby activities – it could be a perfect choice. Installation Side hinged door fitting can appear to be simple and easy – but only at a first glance. Experienced fitters know how important it is to fix the door frame in the right position with horizontal parts perfectly level and vertical parts plumb. To simplify and speed-up fitting, all frames come with factory pre-welded fitting bolts. By turning them clockwise or counter clockwise small adjustments can be made to the positioning allowing fitters to easily fix the frame in the right position.
