SILVELOX SHOW THEIR CLASS AT SOUTHERN HOMEBUILDING & RENOVATING SHOW Fresh from exhibiting at the Southern Homebuilding & Renovating Show, Silvelox’s ranges of internal door sets have been a big hit on the show floor. Combining convenience with classic Italian design, a bespoke internal door set from Silvelox is sure to impress any visitors to your home. Hailing from Castelnuovo, in the beautiful Trentino region of Northern Italy, Silvelox now employ over 130 people in their factory to create precision manufactured bespoke doors. Their internal door sets are designed to fuse the convenience of a door set that is made to measure with stunning Italian design to create a true masterpiece. The public at the Southern Homebuilding & Renovating Show were taken aback by the samples shown on the exhibition floor, which is testament to the quality of the products themselves. Silvelox doors include a number of unique features including their exclusive 180 degree hinges, which not only allow for smooth operation but also give the added benefit of allowing the door to open a full 180 degrees. This can be extremely useful where space is at a premium and the smooth operation gives that extra touch of quality. One of the main benefits of Silvelox doors however, is that they are pre-manufactured with matching frame, architrave and hardware. This makes them infinitely easier to fit, saving on the cost of fitting as well as giving a consistent, perfect look and fit throughout the home. They are also extremely strong thanks to their engineered timber construction preventing them from warping, shrinking and twisting. Silvelox offer fantastic flexibility with their products, with a large range of finishes and styles available. They have 18 styles of woods, 18 lacquers and 18 glazes, with all styles of doors being customisable to your own specifications. They can also match your internal doors to both your front and garage doors, meaning that your home’s design stays consistent throughout. Working together with Kaye Building Systems, Sentinel M was integrated within the thermal doorset, offering three points of trusted locking, whilst still allowing for quick and easy egress due to its unique orbital latch design. The rigorous testing process, which took place in the ASSA ABLOY UKAS accredited test lab, provided the benchmarks to show the doorset offers ‘Enhanced Security’, and therefore has the capability to withstand sustained usage within a variety of environments, including education, commercial and retail. Having undergone timed manual attacking methods, hard and soft body impact tests, and static load testing up to 4500N the doorset was successfully tested to PAS24. Derek Hodgson, General Manager at Kaye Building Systems, said: “We have manufactured this doorset in line with the changes to Part L, due to come into force in April. This particular doorset is proven to have a low rate of heat loss through the material, ensuring the door is energy efficient, in-keeping with the Building Regulations relating to the Conservation of Fuel and Power. “As the new doorset will be installed in commercial buildings, we needed to ensure the hardware we fitted would be resistant to the latest methods of attack. We recognised the robust qualities of Sentinel M and are delighted that we now offer the first doorset to incorporate this product, so it will protect the occupants and assets in a range of commercial projects.” Tim Almond, Business Development Manager for ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions said: “Sentinel M provided the level of security needed for the doorset to be successfully tested to PAS24, it also allows for quick and easy access, perfect for use in public spaces, such as office blocks. “This is the first time we have collaborated with Kaye Building Systems to achieve a tested product and due to the success of this project we are planning additional testing with them.” Adams Rite is the leading supplier of aluminium door locking, electric locking and escape devices. The company is part of ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions, a division of ASSA ABLOY, the global leader in door opening solutions.
