Horizal is a French company that is expanding across the world thanks to a product range that offers consumers high quality, aluminium gates in a range of styles and finishes. The concept has been brought to the UK by gate sector veteran Nick Corbett, who has high hopes for the future: “There is nothing else like this on the UK market,” he explains. “This is both in terms of the product quality and the way the gates are installed”. In France, Horizal work with a network of “PORTALIERS®” – aluminium gate installation experts who are trained, approved and regulated by Horizal, and know the range inside out. “The feedback and interest we’re receiving suggests Horizal will be very well received by UK consumers.” The gates themselves are made at the Horizal factory in France’s Rhône-Alps region, near Lyon, then transported directly to site ready for installation. Each gate is made solely from aluminium castings and requires a purely mechanical assembly method, using stainless steel fixings - there is no welding required. This method also allows for dismantling and replacing items that may be damaged after installation. Gate-specific software is also included with each product that provides optimised profiles and details the number and type of fasteners and parts required for installation. The Horizal gates on display at the new Stockport showroom have a range of different finishes – including wood grain effect, stainless steel, anodised aluminium and many more. However, the new and improved Rigel 6 was launched earlier this month. The new panel, for use with single or twin electromechanical and hydraulic motors, supports a number of new features. These include: 8K2 on-board safety edge input; an integrated 24/7 time clock; better magnetic lock integration; separate open/close directional leading edge inputs and stop & reverse obstacle detection (on 230V electromechanical motors only). Installers are able delete individual transmitters from the radio memory, which has been increased to a four channel radio, particularly useful in commercial and multi-property sites. Danny Wall, owner of CD Wall who has trialled the Rigel commented: “Whether I am doing a new install or upgrading an existing one, I will be choosing this panel due to the additional safety aspects it provides and the other great features it offers. Amperometric sensing on 230V setting of the Rigel 6 is brilliant (available on electromechanical only). I’ve tried it on both Bft rams and other brands and can confirm that it works well. The time clock facility is a fantastic idea; saving space in the control panel housing. Once you know how to change it, it is easy to adjust. Latching relays on the remote control means you can lock and hold open the gate from the remote. Rather than having an additional unit. Installing the Rigel 6 is very much like the Thalia P, which makes it easier and quicker to fit, thus reducing the overall installation time of the job. I am very impressed with the new panel. It’s obvious that Bft have listened to what we have been saying out in the field and are developing products based on that feedback.” To find out more about the Rigel 6 or any other Bft Automation products - call 0161 456 0456 (North) or 01488 674 750 (South) or visit www.bft.co.uk 103 THE door industry journal summer 2017 automated gates and barriers
