Door Industry Journal - Summer 2017

industrial doors and shutters 91 THE door industry journal summer 2017 SWS UK’S SECEURODOOR 75 PROVIDES A WINNING PERFORMANCE! SWS UK’s range of products are undoubtedly renowned for offering exceptional protection to residential, commercial and industrial properties. However, thanks to their bespoke manufacturing process and versatile array of options they occasionally provide a security solution to unique or unusual applications. Once such instance was the protection of a 20k screen in the sports hall of a high school in Stockport. SWS UK’s distributor Alliance Security Installations were approached by the school who had recently had the state of the art screen installed high up on one of the walls within the hall. With the screen being such an investment for the school, it became clear that protecting it both when the school was closed and during certain sporting activities was essential. Having discussed the options with the school, Alliance Security Installations advised them that the robust SeceuroDoor 75 would offer the ideal solution. As well as delivering exceptional security, the attractive roller shutter would be discreet enough to not detract from the school’s décor. Additionally, electric operation meant that the shutter could easily be operated by all members of the school faculty. Upon completion of a thorough survey it was confirmed that the shutter would need to be set 300mm off the wall in order to cover the screen with enough clearance. This resulted in a bespoke angle being required, which was manufactured by SWS UK. The weight of the angle and the raised positioning of the enormous screen necessitated the use of specialist equipment such as a cherry picker and full health and safety tools. Fortunately, Alliance Security Installations are IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) license holders, meaning additional contractors were not required to complete the project. Despite the unusual fitting process, Alliance Security Installations thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of the installation and were delighted to meet the client’s requirements with a product that fully protected one of the school’s biggest investments. The school’s head teacher commented that he was ‘over the moon’ with the finished result and equally impressed with the professional and efficient installation carried out by SWS UK’s distributor; Alliance Security Installations.
