To help support the campaign and to raise awareness of the issues surrounding fire door safety, ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions UK & Ireland is hosting two industry events this September. Held in London and Manchester on two different dates in the month, the key theme at the events, ‘Unlocking Compliance’ will examine the methods by which fire compliancy can be maintained and validated throughout the supply chain, from design to construction and throughout the serviceable life of fire doors. Both events will also feature a discussion panel, speaker presentations and learnings from a number of case studies. Fire Door Safety Week was set up to raise awareness about how third-party certificated fire doors prevent life changing injuries. The campaign aims to highlight the critical role of fire doors in all buildings where people live, work and play. There is also a focus on the legal responsibilities of building professionals regarding fire door safety, and ASSA ABLOY hopes that its events can amplify these vital messages. Brian Sofley, Managing Director for ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions UK & Ireland Door Group, comments: “We hope that our events this September help to resonate a message to the building industry; that fire door safety is everyone’s priority, no matter how little your involvement. “After the success of our Fire Door Safety Week 2018 event held at West Midlands Fire Service’s headquarters in Birmingham, we wanted to continue to help educate professionals on raising the standards of fire door safety. We urge building owners, facility managers and persons responsible for fire door safety to attend this year’s events to learn more.” Further information on both events will be circulated in due course.
