Also online at: www.dijonline.co.uk Fire & Security Aluroll’s Fitter-Friendly Fire Shutters Proving a Hit Amongst Installers Aluroll’s new and improved FS fire shutters are being praised by installers for their fitter-friendly design which complies with the latest legislation. The company is one of a handful of manufacturers whose fire shutters have been tested to meet the current BS EN 16034:2014 standard. Developed by a team of experienced engineers alongside a focus group of installers, they have designed a product which not only meets the new Government legislation, but also mirrors the familiar installation process of a standard steel shutter. Aluroll wanted installers to feel confident in following the simple fitting instructions regardless of their level of experience in fire protection. They have achieved this with the FS range, which offers 1, 2 and 4 hour ratings, in addition to a new 2 hour insulated option. All are CE marked, having been tested in accordance with the required standards by Notified Testing Laboratory Warringtonfire. Since their launch the new FS products have already been installed in a wide range of applications requiring certified fire protection including canteens, industrial units and Government buildings. The Aluroll office has received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback from customers, who praised the design for its similarity to a standard steel roller shutter. We have now fitted multiple without encountering any issues at all, and the bespoke auto- generated technical drawings are a bonus too”. Features include tubular and inline motor options, a battery back-up facility, and various audio-visual control systems options, including the capability of integrating into an existing building alarm management system.
