The door is high speed and, as a one-piece industrial lath, the PU insulation is bonded to the outer skin of the Magroll, ensuring a very strong lath. The design of the lath also ensures that the profile wraps into a much smaller roll than with two-piece models, making it ideal for applications with space limitations. A unique extruded aluminium profile for attaching the top lath to the barrel provides another benefit, as it allows a bolt to be welded to the tube, with the extruded profile then concealing the head of the bolt to avoid damaging the laths when rolling around the tube. Plastisol coated steel ensures a long lifespan and ensures the product is hardwearing and scratch resistant. In addition, two plastic extruded brush carriers are pushed onto the profile to ensure very quiet operation, whilst the Magroll has a U Value of 1.4 W/m 2 •K according to an independent thermal assessment. The Magroll is driven by the Safedrive® Fi drive system from GfA – a motor that has been specifically developed for powering non-balanced doors where high speed, frequency of use and durability are key requirements. This features a built on frequency inverter that greatly reduces site wiring requirements, as the drive and inverter are pre-assembled and the control is separate, so the connection between the two can be achieved with a standard single interconnecting cable and coupled with the standard plug connections. The whole operation is controlled by GfA’s TS 971 digital control system, which allows for easy and rapid setting of limit switch positions and door parameters from ground level (digital limits only). The TS 971 also has the facility to monitor the load in the open direction, a feature which prevents anything being accidentally lifted by the door, as well as preventing people intentionally riding on it when opening. Steelroll Manager Garry Peake is excited by the latest addition to the company’s range: “A lot of work has gone into the development of the Magroll and we are very proud of the result,” he comments. “I’m sure our customers will be impressed by the high speed and strength of this door, so we are confident of strong sales when this unique product hits the market.” industrial doors
