Founded in Kettering in August 1974, Stanair supplies, installs and maintains virtually any kind of industrial door or shutter. Their product range includes industrial doors and shutters of all types, acoustic folding partitions and a complete range of physical security products, including security shutters, collapsible gates, barring systems and access control systems. The business was one of the first specialist industrial door repair companies in the UK, building a reputation for the quality of its products but also for its emphasis on customer service. Martin Wall explains: “We know that we have good products that are good quality and we have a range to fit all requirements, from a security grille for a window through to rapid action doors to assist Just in Time technology, reduce heat loss and improve safety and security. “But what is more important than that is how well we live up to our customers’ expectations. Little things like our promise that doors will be secured or repaired on the first engineering visit, or you won’t pay a penny, or we work hard to reduce our response time to well below the industry-expected standards”. Stanair Industrial Doors are known for the work they do in putting more and more back into the communities that have supported them over four decades. Last year, Stanair committed once again to being the headline sponsor of a Charity Ball; was involved in Education; Pride and Business Awards, while a long involvement with local sports teams led to the sponsorship of Northamptonshire County Cricket’s first club mascot - Steeler. While sponsorship at the likes of Northampton Town, the county cricket team, Peterborough United and Northampton Saints is important, so too is Stanair’s sponsorship of grass roots clubs from youth football teams to Kettering Lodge Bowling Club, and its involvement with local and community theatre and music groups. Martin Wall continued: “It is very important to us to put something back into our community - the community that supports our business so well - and we do that in a variety of ways”. Throughout its history, Stanair has done what it can to promote networking between local companies and being members of various networking organisations. Now some comments from the team: Michael Markham said: “Businesses thrive on working closely with their neighbours in the county, whether they are providing services to those local companies, or calling on them for the services they require, and interaction like that is what makes the county strong”. Managing Director David Wood: “I am proud to have been with Stanair for 26 of their 40 years, during this time the company has changed beyond recognition. Evolving from a very small operation with a few men to the business it is today working out of four depot locations with a staff count of more than 80”. David Martin: “Having been employed by Stanair for over half my working life, both as an engineer and in management, I feel privileged to be part of the team that has turned a small firm with only three teams into a thriving business with four depots and over 20 teams. Years ago, most doors were heavy, steel and manually operated. Today’s doors are generally light, electrically operated, with some controlled by computers. One thing that hasn’t changed over the years is the excellent service we strive to achieve, another is the very large hammer needed to repair some doors!” Moreen Hill: “Being one of the founders of Stanair 40 years ago, it’s been very exciting to see its fantastic progression. I wish for the future of Stanair to be as successful as the past”. Sheena Markham: “I am very proud to have been at Stanair for 38 years and would like to attribute its great success to its engineers, managers, staff and fellow directors. Thank you to you all and thank you to all our customers and suppliers for your continued support”. And the final words come from Chairman, John Standoloft: “As we all recognise, having an experienced and committed team is only one part of the business. The other is you, our clients. Your business has been, and continues to be, the driving force of Stanair’s success. Without you, there would be no business. On behalf of everyone at Stanair, I would like to take this opportunity of thanking you all for your support. In turn, we are committed to maintaining our service, and trust that together, we will continue to move forward successfully. Here’s to the future”.
