With a wealth of knowledge and 30 years of experience in the building industry, Wolfgang joins the company with a practical mind and sound technical understanding. His background and success in a number of sales, marketing and general management roles has proved him to be both an expert in his field and a dedicated team player. Here, he discusses his professional background, challenges the industry is facing and visions for the future of Hörmann UK. Q: What’s your experience in the industry? A: I’ve worked for a variety of companies and sectors within construction, including REHAU, Sto, Epwin and Inwido. I’m extremely proud of the projects I’ve been involved in and I’m a big advocate for encouraging young people to consider construction as a career. The businesses I’ve worked with previously have all been at the premium end of the market and that’s something I’ll never compromise on, which is one of the reasons Hörmann really appealed to me. Q: Why did you choose Hörmann UK? A: Hörmann is a brand I’ve known for many years, it’s an iconic brand in building products, very well respected in the industry and has a fantastic, extensive product range. Since I joined the company, it’s become apparent that quality is at the forefront of the brand. The business has invested heavily in research and development, and as a result we have many innovative product solutions, including the ‘world first’ ProMatic Canopy Door Operator which was launched recently. Q: How will Hörmann UK deal with Brexit? A: I firmly believe that we are in one of the stronger positions in our industry to cope with any implications of Brexit. We hold comprehensive stocks of our standard products and can react to our customer requirements easily; customers receive their items promptly, and this won’t change with Brexit.
