Staff from Rundum Meir UK – the Liverpool- based arm of sliding garage door specialist Rundum Meir Garagentorbau GmbH – recently travelled to Germany to help celebrate the company’s 50th anniversary. The firm originally specialised in making timber up-and-over and slide- round sliding garage doors for the German market. Today, Rundum Meir operates throughout Europe, providing high quality, made-to- measure, automated sliding garage doors in a range of materials – including oak, iroko, cedar, timber, sapele and hemlock. To celebrate the landmark birthday, UK staff joined employees from across the continent for a gala dinner at the firm’s HQ near Munich, where they enjoyed outstanding food followed by a comedy act and speeches. One of the speakers was Ludwig Hofner - Joint-Owner and MD of Rundum Meir – who reflected on five successful decades and looked ahead to future achievements, such as the company’s impending launch in the USA. The next day, the British contingent joined nearly 2000 people at a Rundum Meir family charity day. A children’s funfair, beer tent and food stalls were all laid on - with musical entertainment provided by a popular local band - and the event raised € 8600 for a national children’s charity. Before returning home, the Rundum Meir UK team spent a day in Munich, taking in sights such as the famous English Garden. “Good company and excellent entertainment, not to mention great food and refreshments, made this a fantastic trip for us all,” says Danesch Missaghian, Director at Rundum Meir UK. “It was amazing to meet up with colleagues from across the continent and sample some excellent German hospitality. Here’s to another fifty years!” For more information about the Rundum Meir range of products, visit www.rundumgaragedo or call 0151 280 6626 'Three generations of the Meir family' Co-founder Mrs Meir Senior, her daughter Frau Gärtner and grandson joint MD Martin Gärtner.
