The Aluroll team’s latest fundraising efforts have seen them raise £800 for local children’s hospices. Team members donned their trainers and battled rainy weather conditions to run Oswestry 10K. The event was the first of its kind for the town, with a hilly course situated near the Aluroll’s manufacturing base in Shropshire. Hope House was the charity of choice, which offers care for children suffering from terminal illnesses and associated support for their families. The door industry were behind the Aluroll team, with suppliers such as GfA and Somfy kind enough place donations. Production Manager Barry Mahon said: “Hope House have a huge impact on the day-to-day lives of the families who need it most. I’m proud that we managed to complete the run with decent times, all in the name of a great cause! Thanks to everyone who donated.” The fastest runner of the team was Adam Jones, who finished the run in an impressive 45 minutes. Aluroll also sponsored Oswestry 10K itself as part of the Evans Enterprises group of companies. The local event was the first of its kind and turned out to be a resounding success for the town. Following the introduction of the FenTrack business system earlier this year, Aluroll’s stock department has recently seen some significant changes to further improve the control of purchasing and stock. New uniforms, factory signage and designated delivery entrances with barriers and klaxons have also played a large part in managing stock efficiently, along with the introduction of two key new roles. Dan Ryley: Purchasing Manager Dan has worked for Aluroll for eight years, gaining valuable experience across several departments and playing a key role in the implementation of the new FenTrack business system. The Purchasing Manager role was a natural progression for Dan as he has been able to combine his financial background with Aluroll’s bespoke MRP systems. Howie Llewellin: Stock Supervisor A new member of the Aluroll team, Howie has many years’ experience in stock control within the manufacturing sector. Since joining Aluroll he has wasted no time in jumping in at the deep end, getting to grips with the new Fentrack system and optimising efficiencies on the factory floor to meet increasing demand and production targets.
