Understandably, this has had a negative effect on factors such as lead times. But despite the many issues across the industry, one company - Trojon Roller Doors - has managed to retain impressive lead times, keeping them down to 3 weeks or less . “It has been tough, but we’ve proved to trade customers we are there for them and efficiency hasn’t been affected,” explains Tony Spong, Associate Director at Trojon. “It helps that we are 99% self-sufficient, which put us in a good position to ride the wave of disruption. But it has also taken a lot of hard work and dedication from our staff (many of whom are working an extended six-day week) to keep lead times short. Thanks to them, anybody who orders a roller door from us can be confident in the knowledge that it’s business as usual.” In fact, client numbers have actually grown over the past few months at Trojon, something Tony attributes to a number of factors: “The influx of new customers is down to various reasons, including cost and stock. But probably it is lead times in particular that have made the difference, as some manufacturers may be struggling to control this. It’s been great to welcome so many new customers, while of course we thank all our existing customers for continuing to work with us.” Another reason behind Trojon’s success is that everything is manufactured with the fitter in mind. So, all doors are delivered ready to install – with no drilling, screwing and building up on the customers’ driveway required. And all control systems are pre-fitted, wired up and checked in the factory for operation before delivery. So, against the odds, 2020 has been another successful chapter in the Trojon story. The company has gone from strength to strength over the last few years and is recognised throughout the industry as a major player in the domestic roller garage door market. It is now the UK’s fastest growing roller door manufacturer. And to help both established and new customers, Trojon has produced a new sample folder that allows trade clients to showcase Trojon products and colours. The folder also highlights important specifications and unique products, such as Trojon’s 250mm hood box option - developed by the firm’s own engineers. The use of the 250mm box, which accommodates a 77mm lath, eliminates 75% of the need to supply a smaller inferior compact 55mm door. Trojon can manufacture a roller garage door up to 5mtr wide in a 250mm hood box, giving greater drive-through height in restricted spaces. The folder also gives the customer a reminder of the new external release kit that Trojon has designed in-house to fit directly on the guide. “We are positive for the future,” concludes Tony. “For our success to continue we know that we just need to keep doing what we’re good at – supplying high quality doors, made with the fitter in mind, at competitive prices. But while we have been fully operational during the pandemic, I recognise the impact it’s had across the door industry. Our thoughts are with all the businesses, and so many of our customers, who have been badly affected.” To find out more about Trojon Roller Doors, visit www.trojonrollerdoors.co.uk , call 0116 283 7744, or email info@trojonrollerdoors.co.uk
