Company No. OC364751 Derek Hibbart, Editor, Door Industry Journal welcome Time flies… The last time I wrote my welcome address - for our Summer issue - it was ‘Freedom Day’ in the UK. Now, it’s just over a month until Christmas! Much has changed since then. Things continue to return to normal and its business as usual across our sector. This is great news for everyone, including us at the DIJ – as we’ve seen a marked increase in support from our advertisers and contributors that has brought us back to where we were pre-Covid, in early 2020. Thanks to all our loyal customers – old and new – for your support. The return of normality has also brought back, at long last, industry exhibitions. And we will be taking space in the media centre at the R+T Show, Stuttgart in February, where this issue of DIJ will be freely available to all visitors. So, whenever and wherever you’re reading your copy of the DIJ, here’s a selection of what’s inside: • Read about ‘Hormann Alone’ – a new film that takes a fun look at a serious subject (page 6) • Discover how Chamberlain Doors won a major logistics award (page 12) • Read how Secured by Design is playing a role in the reform of fire safety regulations following the Grenfell fire (page 26) • A look at why Yorkshire-based firm Colour-Tec is in such demand across the roller door sector (page 50) • How concentrating on the basics is leading to rewards for Leicester-based Trojon Roller Doors (page 70) • Read about the ‘weather beaters’ – the hardy, low-maintenance aluminium gates from HorizAL (page 98) • The seven magnificent reasons why Scrigno, Italy’s favourite pocket door system, is gaining in popularity (page 110) There is plenty more inside – enjoy your read! I’ll be with you again for our spring issue.
