Testing, certification and documentation Throughout the week, candidates complete paperwork relating to their installations. This paperwork is then retained as proof of completion, alongside written and practical assessment results from each module. The GID course concludes with a closed book final written paper, which assesses candidates’ retention of information from the past five days. Each candidate is then individually debriefed and given feedback from each of the instructors - showing where they have done well, and advising on any further training that may be required. We have now run the GID course twice, both times at Ellard Ltd in Wythenshawe, Manchester, and the feedback we’ve had from those taking part has been outstanding. The next course will take place at our dedicated training facility in Burton-on-Trent at the end of April. Taking five days from a busy diary is a big commitment, and my decision to use multiple specialist instructors to deliver the best possible training comes at a cost. So, to limit the expense of our training as much as practically possible, we will continue to offer the course at ‘satellite’ locations such as Ellard Ltd, as well as at our Burton-on-Trent facility. We also plan to offer the course over a number of Saturdays and Sundays, dependent on demand, to allow those busy throughout the week to attend. Also, anyone wishing to register for the Door & Gate Systems NVQ Level 2 at the time of booking the GID, will benefit from a discounted rate and twelve months of ongoing support to assist in achieving the required standard. Further information, including course dates and details of other specialist courses, can be found at www.hsltraining.co.uk , or by contacting HSL on 01283 310563.
