In response to the increasing frequency of extreme weather events, such as heavy rainfall and flooding, Hörmann has developed solutions to help protect buildings from water ingress. The flood resistant versions of the doors do not compromise on performance or aesthetics and have been independently tested to ift Rosenheim’s FE-07/2 guidelines for floodresistant closures, covering windows, doors, gates, and roller shutters. The flood-resistant variant of Hörmann’s industrial steel doors maintains all its core functionalities, including fire resistance, sound insulation, thermal efficiency, and security. It offers protection against floodwater up to 900 mm for single-leaf doors up to 1150mm wide. A retrofit package is also available, allowing existing installations to be upgraded with this flood protection capability. On the residential side, the ThermoSafe Hybrid aluminium entrance door now features flood resistance up to 500 mm water height for door widths up to 1250mm. These enhancements do not affect the door’s advanced performance levels or its modern, stylish appearance.
