Building on the established success and proven benefits of its FI drives, the FX range expands on this whilst introducing a modular design with a separate frequency inverter, offering unparalleled flexibility and performance for a wide array of industrial door applications. The GfA FX concept provides all the familiar advantages of GfA’s existing FI drives, now enhanced by its innovative modularity. Familiar Performance. Enhanced Flexibility. The Advantages of FX. • High-Speed Opening & Closing: FX drives enable high door speeds, significantly reducing waiting times and increasing efficiency in facilities. This also contributes to increased energy efficiency by minimising heat loss or gain. • Smooth and Quiet Operation: Featuring soft-start and soft-stop functionality, the FX ensures the smooth running of doors, which extends the life of both the drive and the door mechanism. This also reduces operational noise, making it an ideal solution for noise sensitive environments such as office buildings and apartment blocks. • Modular and Flexible Placement: A key innovation of the FX is its separate frequency inverter module. This allows for the flexible placement of the FX module independent of the main drive unit. This is particularly advantageous for installations where drive space is limited or where the inverter needs to be installed away from the drive unit in the most optimal position. • Intuitive Operating Concept & Easy Setup: As with the current FI range the FX integrates seamlessly with GfA’s familiar door controls, including the TS 970, TS 971, and TS 981 controllers with their intuitive rotary selector switch. For engineers already familiar with GfA’s TS Control Panel range, setting up an FX drive will be the same experience. The system also offers plug-and-play connectivity with standard DES cables for the control panel to the FX Inverter Module, and a pre-assembled plug-in cable (2m as standard) between the FX Inverter Module and the drive unit. Again, as with the FI range, users can dial in the actual speed required, allowing direct adjustment of the output speed without the risk of over speeding the drive. • Robust for Challenging Environments: The FX is very well suited for operating conditions with increased protection requirements. Versatile Applications: The GfA FX range is designed to excel in various demanding scenarios: • Car Parks: Ideal for offices and apartment blocks where minimising operational noise is crucial or where limited head and/or side room for the drive unit poses a challenge. • Challenging Industrial Environments: Perfect for locations such as waste transfer sites or installations requiring externally mounted shutters. • Space-Constrained Installations: Provides an optimal solution for any installation where headroom or side room for the drive space is limited, thanks to the separately housed inverter module. • High-Speed Doors: Specifically engineered for high-speed sectional doors and high-speed rolling doors that require an anti-fallback device. Product Line-up: The FX range will offer a variety of versions with different torques and speeds, available for roller shutters and sectional doors. • For Roller Shutter Doors (Safedrive® FX): Includes models such as SI63 5.250 FX, SI63 8.180 FX, SI 40.40 FX, SI 75.45 FX, and SI 100.30 FX, featuring various shaft diameters. These drives incorporate a patented anti-fallback device. • For Sectional Doors (Ranger FX): Includes models like SE 14.100 FX and SE 14.100 FX ER, available with different shaft diameters. These are special drives for counterbalanced sectional doors. All FX systems comply with the mandatory EU & UK legislation, which includes the built-in anti-fallback device certificate according to BS EN 12604 / 12605 (ift Rosenheim GmbH). www.gfa-elektromaten.co.uk
